The pro-roller hinge port mouthpiece works on the bars and the palate of the horse's mouth.
Because of the fact that each side of the mouthpiece can work individually, it allows the rider to take the horse's head to one side or lift a shoulder laterally.
The copper barrels on the mouthpiece induce more saliva and prevent the horse from actually taking the bit and blocking it fixed in it's mouth.
The barrels are straight, so they are carried balanced in the horse's mouth and do not slide from one way to the other as you would have with bevelled barrels.
